About Us
Our History
It started out as a small turo-turo during the late 80s. The signature dishes back then were kare kare, bulalo, sisig, chicken and pork barbecue. They used to serve 35 dishes a day from huge cauldrons where customers can open the lid, smell and look at the available viands.
Pidoks started serving genuine Kapampangan food in Davao, based from the recipes of their grandparents who relocated there from San Fernando Pampanga.
Gradually, it became one of the go -to places in Davao and a cultural landmark. Sadly, a series of events such as the economic crisis t hat happened during the post—EDSA revolution, NPA threat s and the death of the matriarch and patriarch in the family, the restaurant started its downfall. Eventually, the business closed down in early 2000s and more fast-food chains started coming in.
Back then, it was a family run business and there was no professional system. Despite that, Pidoks accumulated a following and became a brand name in the city and became one of Davao’s landmark . Many people still looked and inquired about the restaurant despite having closed down.
It was Myka’s mother Vivian who decided to revive the restaurant in 2014, since there was already an established name among the locale. Later, they also revived the DeLumbar Chicken Barbeque. When they revived Pidoks RESTAURANT, the looks and the environment were upgraded to match the feel of modern Filipino restaurants.
Today, Pidoks RESTAURANT continues to serve Kapampangan dishes the way it was done from the time of their grandparents up until today. While some dishes are tweaked to suit the Dabawenyo taste, Pidoks ensures that their Kapampangan standards are maintained.
Why Choose Pidoks?
People Enjoy Our Foods
They have some great sea food, allowing you the choice of fish to be used for sinigang! the crispy intestines were my personal fave.
I had a great lunch with my colleague when I visited our branch in Davao. The Pinakbet was awesome as well as the tinolang isda( lapulapu). Everything was palatable. We left the restaurant quite full. You don’t regret spending money there. It’s all worth it.
I could never forget the Kilawin, the tuna is fresh together with the fresh greens. You must also try their Bamboo rice for you to see its surprise. The bamboo rice alone will fill you so it is better to take it little by little so it will not full your stomach fast. They also serve fried native chicken.
Will come back here if have the chance.
Food is great, with a wide variety of native filipino dishes in their menu… Crispy tuna tail, Fish Bihod, Fish Bagaybay.. Service is very good…
As we entered the restaurant, we were warmly welcomed by the staff. The foods at PIDOKS were very scrumptious! We ate everything! The service was excellent!
Had lunch here last monday and the food was awesome!!! People were raving about Jack Ridge but the food there was not tasty, and expensive, they even gave us greasy, dirty plates!!!! Anyway going back to Pidok’s it’s along the Highway of Lanang so you wont miss it. Their shakes, grilled platter and kare-kare are must try. Staff are very attentive too.
Located at the center of Davao.. Clean and Nice Resto, Me and my family ordered the Seafood Platter and Pancit Guisado Bihon… The price is affordable and worth it. Highly-recommended..
The grilled tuna is very good. Tandem it with halaan soup and lato seaweeds kinilaw. Will try the bamboo rice on my next visit. Nice place. Good food.
We were recommended here and thank god for that. Seafood is king here and we had very good examples of local cuisine. Grilled tuna jaw, tiger prawns, chili crab, all excellent fresh. Recommend if you like seafood.
It was my 2nd time having dinner with my friends at the chicken haus yesterday and still they never fail to make me feel ‘so full’ after eating. Aside from their chicken, seafoods are also worth the try (I personally like their sinigang na hipon and fried hito). Fresh fruits are well presented. The only flaw in my opinion is they do not serve unlimited rice which majority of pinoys would really want in a resto like this. Other than that, I really like the food and ambiance.
Excellent food selection. Plenty of seating available.. 2 rooms with aircon. Staff always ready & willing to assist…. & so friendly. Cold beer ??…. cant say I ever had a real cold one. Close to everything, Shops, Hotels, peoples park.. ample free parking.
My boyfriend and I used to go here every after we chill in the Peoples Park which is a few steps away. A beer on a classic afternoon at the very back of the restaurant is a way to go here. For the food, their squid and bamboo rice is a must to try!! Nothing negative to say about this place!
Pidoks reminds me why Davao is an excellent food destination: fresh seafood, good service and unbelievable affordable prices. My family and I were so impressed we all agreed it was the highlight of our Davao vacation.
You can skip the trip up to Jack’s Ridge and have your dinner here right beside People’s Park.
My colleagues and I had dinner at Pidoks after our meeting and we just could not stop raving about how good the food was. I was very satisfied with the food that I decided to bring my hubby there for dinner. Hubby and I ordered garlic rice, gising-gising (a spicy, thinly sliced kangkong stalk cooked in coconut milk), halaan soup, native chicken barbecue and tidtad. The native chicken is meaty but tastes ordinary, nothing special. The others however taste great. Service is fantastic. As promised, the waiters served our food exactly 15 minutes from the time we ordered. We paid P670.00. Not bad at all. 🙂
